keeping this country at the forefront of research, technology clean energy. putting people back to work rebuilding roads and schools. we face a very clear deadline that requires us to make some big decisions on jobs taxes deficits by the end of the year. i believe both parties can work together to make these decisions in a balanced and responsible way. yesterday i met with labor and civic leaders for their input. today i am meeting with ceos of some of the largest companies. i will meet with leaders of both parties of congress before the week is out. there's only one way to solve these challenges. as i have said before, i am open to compromise and new ideas. i have been encouraged to hear republican after republican agreed on the idea that we need more revenue and if we're going to be serious about reducing the deficit. when it comes to taxes there are two pathways available. option one is if congress fails to act by the end of this year everybody's taxes will automatically go up. including the 90 percent of americans to make less than $250,000 a year. and th
